Overview

What it is.

Ipamorelin was developed by Novo Nordisk. Its sequence, Aib-His-D-2Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂, has two non-standard residues (2-aminoisobutyric acid and D-3-(2-naphthyl)alanine), a D-phenylalanine and a C-terminal amide.

It has been characterized in animal studies as a selective growth hormone secretagogue and was evaluated in phase 2 clinical trials. It is not an approved medicine.

High-performance liquid chromatography separates a sample into its components. Purity is the main peak’s share of the total detected signal, usually measured by UV absorbance around 214–220 nm.

It measures the main component against peptide-related impurities; it isn’t net peptide content, which also accounts for water and counter-ions.
